MANUEL ANTONIO NATIONAL PARK TOUR / WILDLIFE RULES
The National Park establish in 1972 was created to preserve the flora and the fauna endemic and native of this region. Also five beaches that are protected within the park Over a 100 species of mammals, nearly 110 species of birds, different types of insects and reptiles. The great variety of wild life is easy to observe (because of our experienced naturalist guides) everywhere.
Be alert, cause anything could be watching you from atop the trees. White-faced capuchin monkey, red back squirrel monkey and howler monkeys, three toed sloth and two toed sloth, coatis, agoutis, brilliantly colored land crabs, some species of butterflies, pelicans, laughing falcons, common black hawks, white ibis, five spicies of kingfisher, fiery billed aracari (toucan) and so much more you can see with us.
Despite its small size and great popularity, Manuel Antonio manages to remain one of the premier nature spots in Central America . The mountains literally meet the sea here and the ecosystem is teeming with land, marine and aerial species. If there is one place to visit in this country and be assured of seeing animals in the wild, this is it, leaded by our experienced bilingual guides
About the tour
After the hotel pick up (7 am and up), we'll drive for about 5-10 minutes down to the park entrance, where our 3 ½ hours hike begins. Moving along trails, you'll be surprised to experience the magical blend of exotic vegetation, the sea right by your feet and the amazing opportunities you'll have to observe some of the area's wildlife (reptiles, sloths, monkeys).
Half way thru, we'll stop for a little rest, while we enjoy a refreshing (and more than welcome) snack (cold water, fruit, cookies), after wich we'll continue for the last part of the trip.
Tour includes : transportation, entrance fees, snack, naturalist tour guide with spotting equipment.
Length of the tour : half day.
What to bring : camera, binoculars, bug spray, sun creen, light clothes, hiking shoes or TEVA style sandals. Bathing suit and towel (if planning to stay swimming in the Park after the tour). light poncho from May thru December.
